Beijing photos

Last year on Thursday & Friday we went to the Summer Palace (which if you ever go, plan a full day for touring) and took the full day Friday for the Great Wall (including a stop at the Jade Factory, lunch across from the Cloisonne factory that was closed & tea at a beautiful tea house that had a really noce court yard). In hind sight I wish I would have purchased more tea because we were not able to find the exact teas this place sold anywhere else. I also wish we would have bought something for Maddy at the Jade Factory but I figured we would find something later in the trip- this didn't happen so next time for sure! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from those couple of days:

Here's our group rollin' in the Benz (van) on the way to the Great Wall

I remember the first time I saw your post from this day and the Group 92 photo from the wall. I was trying to hard to figure out if I had met any of the other group members at seminars before. And I remember sort of feeling nostalgic and ready to go back to China again already. It is fun to re-live it again with you now!

Yes, and since you were one day before us to some of these places, you also had the lovely overcast (pollution?) I was so hoping it would be a beautiful sunny day at the Summer Palace. Hopefully next time! Oh well - at least we had mostly clear weather for the Great Wall. And yes, you can get something made of cloisonne next trip! Maddy could even pick it out. Isn't this memory lane thing fun? I can't believe I will be doing mine until mid-November!! :)

Have you mentioned that the Dragon Boat was made of marble? My weather at the Great Wall was 110 degrees with bright sunlight!!!
Whew!
